Went for a lovely catch up with Sheetal and Kaye at the Rocks last Wednesday. It’s been a while since we had one of these outings, and I hadn’t seen them since my birthday, last October. Sheetal and I went to Pancakes on the Rocks before we met up with Kaye. I haven’t been there in AGES! It’s funny, because everytime I go there, I rarely ever order pancakes. I think it’s too much of a sugar overload for me (weak!), but seriously, I’ll get headaches. I will most likely go all Professor Frink and break into seizures or babble incoherence.

I’ve trapped a fly between the glass and flyscreen of the window two hours ago. It’s still flying around all pregnant-like.

The holiday period has adverse reactions on my brain: I read more, write more, am more critically apt and pick up concepts more easily than during the active semester where I refuse to put effort, time and thought into anything that will subsequently turn up horribly on my end-of-program transcsript. This sucks, my psyche hates me. Now, who wants to help me find the Unified Field Theory?

Dammit, everybody’s fallen asleep around here. Am going to attempt cooking tonight with Kan Tong. Oh baby.

[ARTICLE] Sydney turns red: dust storm blankets city

I got woken up by a text message from Ulrika telling me to look outside and how it wasn’t supposed to be normal. I could see some red light seeping through the sides of my blinds, but when I opened them, I was like HOLY FUCK! I seriously thought it was an apocalyptic-coming or something rather. The sky was ENTIRELY RED. I tried taking photos, but it didn’t really turn out, so I decided to take this one photo taken by somebody from UNSW CSE. It was in fact, much redder than this when seen with the naked eye. It was terrifying.

Good thing I had already not planned to go into uni today. The skies have pretty much cleared up now, but there is still a lot of dust around. There are a few people outside wearing surgical masks and every single car outside is covered with dust. I read that winds will pick up at about 100km/hr later today. I wonder how that will feel like. I can imagine cars being tipped over. I wonder how the overly religious reacted. Judgment day, anybody?

Ugh, am a quarter way into my psych report. It’s going very slowly. Glad it’s due on Friday and not tomorrow, otherwise I’d be soot.

In good news, I went out to the local shops today and bought Lindt milk chocolate. Oh yeah, this is gonna be a good day. I wonder what colour the sky will be tomorrow morning…
